End of Season Match Play Championships
The IGI Tour is currently in the trial phase and currently includes an end of season Match Play event to provide all players in Tour contention to finish with a double point win or top 10 finish to gain enough points to win the overall IGI Tour.
The IGI Tour end of season match play were created based on the original Australian Indoor Match Play Championships first played in 2007. The concept has now been incorporated into the Indoor Golf International (IGI) Tour as the final round of the tour to be played during November/December each year. The inaugural AIG Match Play Championship was held at The Cyber Bunker during December 2007 through to March 2008. The event saw players placed in pools of 4 players for the initial pool stage and then entered the main draw where there was a maximum of 32 players competing for the ultimate match play title.
Format
The new IGI Tour Match Play Championships are explained in the documents below but will be based on the rankings in the IGI-Tour and consist of 2 rounds, quarterfinals, semi finals and the grand final match. Useful links related to the match play championships are below:
